Finally after one year of blogging on blogger i am moving to the custom domain "www.ceveni.com" i choosed this name because it is small, easy to remember and moreover it relates to my family name ;) .... though i was planning from many days to own a website... i was puzzled whether to buy a domain and host it on word press or to buy via blogger and continue blogging..... as blogger allows to use the new domain without having to lose page rank, blogposts or any other content and even the old links will still be redirected the the new website.... though blogger has few limitations such has forums which i badly required but it offer too many cool features which could not be resisted and moreover i will not lose around 700+ posts which is already in the blog
Some of the reason to choose Domain through bloggers
though cons are very less purchasing a domain through blogger/Google is very advantage if you own a small company as you can provide custom email id for almost all of your employees ... any way if any one of you have migrated like me do share cons and pros of migration

Congratulations on your new domain.
However, you are wrong wrt moving to wordpress self hosted solution. You will still be able to retain the same permalink for all the existing posts through an API available. Users of WordPress 2.2 and above can import from Blogger. Earlier versions cannot import from Blogger because "New Blogger" was released by Google, invalidating all the old importers. Only WordPress 2.2 and later has support for "New Blogger".
If you haven't already, you must be using New Blogger and a Google Account on Blogger. If you are still using Old Blogger, the importer will not work.
ya yes i was not knowing that.... between i am planning for another domain and will do that when i will find a time as i am marching in deadline of my company project......
