Where to Download Microsoft Photo Editor working ?Recently i searched on the net for the Microsoft Photo Editor but i could not find the download link anywhere and when i searched in official Microsoft site that Microsoft Photo Editor has been discontinued and not available for downloads replaced with "Office Picture Manager" in Office 2003..... The program was a useful tool for doing raster graphics with editing tools to texturize, negative, for gamma control, GIF transparency and many others. It was based on HALO Desktop Imager by Media Cybernetics, L.P. Early versions of Microsoft Photo Editor, including the version bundled with Office 2000, erased meta data from digital camera JPEG images during save
after googling a bit i came to know that we can install the Microsoft Photo Editor using office97 to office xp CD by running exe and selecting update and choosing install Microsoft Photo Editor option......... and if you dont have the cd with you dont worry i got the link to download the exe and install it

Though it is a custom made exe it works fine if there is a problem with the working please let us know.....

Aahhhh!!! I keep trying to download "free" Photo Editor - it seems to install just fine, and did actually work once, but after that, NOTHING. I'd be more than willing to purchase. Can anyone tell me why it only worked once, and then not again? I have XP now. Please email me at:

Man I was so happy to find this and download it but although it installed for me it would not open a jpg for me. It says no file format information can be found in the registry.
Maybe I need to re-boot?

Hi guys i downloaded and installed on windows 2000 and windows xp it is working fine but i dont know whether it works on vista any way thanx for the software :)

i downloaded this - it works but in the version i had i could open more than one pic at a time using shift key and clicking to select a range of pics - won't do this - anyone know why - using windows xp

I have downloaded 3 other "versions" of this program from other sites that would not run, they were old 16 bit things. I have been going CRAZY since my XP PC died yesterday and I cannot access the drive to salvage old programs. This is the ONE program I could not live without. RHANKYOU! And it runs in Vista without a hitch!!
NO FILE FORMAT INFORMATION FOUND IN THE REGISTRY. Can't open my jpgs with it.
It does work! However, it is missing some of the graphic file format filters, the genuine article handles TIFFs and PCT files as well as opening BMPs.
I've downloaded this previously and noticed it would no longer print any images and does not open images over a certain size. Tried a fresh download and it has the same problems . . . this is no longer of any use to me!
I've been looking for this tiny tool to crop pictures using oval shape.Thanks a ton as this saves few bucks to me and still get my daughters' frame done.

I need help!!!!!! I have Windows XP now and I need Microsoft Photo Editor to smudge my pictures and now I can't because with the new Windows XP, it doesnt really fully download this program anymore. It keeps saying: NO FILE FORMAT INFORMATION FOUND IN THE REGISTRY. What can I do?? :(

Please please help me. I have carried this photo editor from computers 97 to windows 7 and love it dearly.
Now it will not open pictures that it previously did open. I will open some but not others and i have not done anything new to the pictures it won't open. I get a message saying Error reading file
